In Constant Contact | by Tom Lichtenberg July 31, 2011 | Free! | 22657 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I write books across a lot of different genres and styles. I've got some sci-fi, some mystery, some satire, some young adult, a little kids' book, and some just plain old-fashioned stories. Most are short and easy to read, are sometimes funny and often feature unexpected endings. Some of my books are related to each other, sharing characters, locales and plots. Snapdragon Alley, Freak City and Dragon Town comprise "The Dragon City Trilogy" The "All Geeked Up" collection includes World Weary Avengers, Ledman Pickup, and In Constant Contact "The Secret Trilogy" is 'Chaos Fiction' and includes Squatter with a Lexus, Secret Sidewalk, and Hidden Highway "Rays and Nights" is a collection of cross-genre stories that share certain characters, and includes the faux-horror Zombie Nights, the sci-fi Death Ray Butterfly and the coming-of age stories of Raisinheart Fissure Monroe features the intrepid private eye, Dawn Debris. Missy Tonight follows Orange Car with Stripes in these stories of Atheist Comic Sci-Fi Pulp Fiction. Golden is a screenplay based on Time Zone. Jimmyland is a screenplay based on Phantom of the Mall. Inspector Mole pops up all over the place. If you like one, chances are you'll like another, and if you don't, well, thanks for giving it a try! |

Facebook's Lost Love | by Ron Shillingford Dec. 12, 2011 | Free! | 3063 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: The only subject I was any good at during my childhood was English, so becoming a world renowned novelist was the supreme fantasy along with achieving the typical sporty ones concerning World Cup football matches and world title boxing fights. I've always had a profound love of the written word, whether creating, reading or analyzing. It's lead to an exciting career in journalism and three well received published books have come along the way: No Glove No Love (boxing novel), The Elite Forces Handbook of Unarmed Combat (martial arts) and From Prison to the Premiership (ghostwritten autobiography). The next phase is writing ebooks which I am grateful to Smashwords for providing the opportunity to do.Judging by the intinial reaction to my work, I may have finally found my niche! For feedback, please contact me on: shillbox@hotmail.com or on facebook: Ronnie Shillingford |

The Girl With No Name | by Suzanne Readsmith Jan. 07, 2012 | Free! | 3244 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I write about people, their relationships and the dynamics within. I write books, short stories and TV scripts with a leaning towards drama and black comedy. I have been published and had several scripts considered. I enjoy illustrating the wide range of emotions experienced in life by people of both genders and the permutations of social and personal cultural influences. I like to reach out and to make contact with readers walking beside them and not leaving them before I have evoked within them thought provoking emotions strung between tragedy and joy. I am a person touched by the irony of life and human frailty. Writing is as much a need for me as a want. Many years ago a complete stranger stopped me on the street and she said, “You will always work for a living†which is proving to be true. Today I work hard and don’t play enough. Instead I find myself traversing internalised continents exploring the complexities of life. Sometimes I have experienced life to be hard hitting, startling and scary which is true for so many people. I love my family and enjoy reading, gardening, painting and travelling. |

Heller | by JD Nixon May 30, 2011 | Free! | 104468 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books: The Heller series (first book Heller) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer Tilly Chalmers and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss Heller. The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties) features police officer Tess Fuller and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break??? I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: jdn.author@gmail.com |
