7am Sauna by T. S. Landry 7am Sauna by T. S. Landry Jan. 31, 2012 $0.99 52174 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
My name is Teresa. I am a full-time writer and mother, as well as a part-time aerobics instructor and figure skating coach. My background includes everything from business owner to sales rep to entertainer to church secretary, with a lot of in-betweens. After having crossed one of life's many speed bumps (there have been many), I decided to concentrate my energy on a lifelong love of writing. Before turning to full length fiction, I published articles in newspapers and magazines. My first novel, Silent Tears, is the story of a teenage girl born with extraordinary powers. Unfortunately, the powers are changing and her lifelong struggle to appear normal becomes more difficult...and dangerous. My second novel, 7am Sauna, follows the struggles of six women who have little in common except that they belong to the same health club. Through conversations in the sauna following their morning workouts, they discover new aspects of themselves, as well as the impact they can have on each other's lives. I am also working on a how-to book for crafting leather sheaths. I spent almost ten years as a sheath maker in the custom knife industry, and my sheaths have appeared in Blade Magazine, Knives Illustrated, Tactical Knives, Knife World, Art of the Knife, the Knives Annual 2004 thru 2009, and many domestic and foreign internet knife forums and web sites.

Organic Leaves by Samantha MC Luck Organic Leaves by Samantha MC Luck Jan. 25, 2012 $3.99 64850 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Intuitive adults, annoyed older siblings, and patient parents knew that Samantha M.C. Luck would grow up to be a writer. As a small child, her stories went on and on and on and on… “And thennn,” she would repeat in the middle of mental paragraphs until the story was completely told. They all knew her path before she did. It wasn’t until her fourth grade project to write, illustrate, and display her own book that she knew she was born to be a writer. She presented to her class her own version of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. It was full of fun, fear, love, and candy, plenty of candy!! Many years later, Samantha, raised in Southeast, D.C., and Prince George’s County, Maryland, went on to pursue a degree in journalism-magazine production at Florida A&M University and earned her M.B.A. at Trinity (Washington) University. Writing remained her passion as she continued through school. She wrote for her college’s newspaper and magazine. She interned at the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper, freelanced for The Washington Informer Newspaper, conducted interviews, and wrote articles for ShowOff Magazine (a Bermuda publication), and JukeBoxDC.com, an internationally known music blog. Samantha has had the opportunity to interview several artists and influential figures from Talib Kweli, Ryan Leslie, Dawn Richard, to Teedra Moses, Anthony Hamilton, and Doug E. Fresh. While interviewing is fun for Samantha because she loves to listen and ask questions, she has brought her focus back to her first love–creative writing. Organic Leaves is a story Samantha developed over the course of a few years, building from her own experiences, the universal of experiences of young women in college, and the secret trials that are inevitable for most of them. Samantha created an imaginative story of love, pain, paralyzing fear, and exciting rebellion. She wrote the book to bring many issues to light and to share that we, as a community, are not so different from each other. Samantha currently works in trade publishing and is working on her second novel.

The Finishing of Lady Amelia by Scarlett Rains The Finishing of Lady Amelia by Scarlett Rains Jan. 08, 2012 $4.99 41970 words Sample 2%
Author bio:
ABOUT ME... I'll share that I adore 18th century English history and imagine I'm transported back to that period when I'm writing. I make every attempt to represent the period authentically when I write of it and don't pull punches. As a result, you may find some of my content unusual, but I believe strongly in representing likely characters of the period realistically. HOW DO I CREATE MY CHARACTERS? Character inspirations come to me after reading of a particular event, during the period, that interests me. I often awaken from a sound sleep with a poem or segment of a story telling itself to me quite clearly. I jump up (scare my hubby half to death) and run to my desk to write it all out. At other times, mostly when I'm gardening or just allowing my mind to wander, a character will reveal itself to me with such clarity that I feel as if they are real. When I write of them it's more a sharing of their thoughts then a telling, if you understand my meaning. HOW I KEEP GOING... I'll close with this tidbit...a segment from my dream the other night. Don't be afraid to dream. Fear is a rabid beast with gaping mouth, blood-drenched teeth and a voracious appetite for dreams. Dream on, dear reader! Scarlett

At one time in his teenage years he was reading one book a day---the subject didn't matter, but it needed to grab his interest in the first couple of pages, or he would abandon it. And this is the rule he has since applied to all his writing, believing that if you haven't grabbed the reader straight away, you are not writing well enough.. After graduating with an Honors Degree in History he spent many years in academic publishing, at last leaving to pursue his long-held dream of becoming a writer. "Easily among the very best new writers we have seen", "fresh and original", "creates life-like characters---maybe too life-like" (whatever that means!), are some of the comments made by literary reviewers and consultants about his work. She graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor’s of Music, and spent a year teaching in China. Four children later, Erin’s control freak nature made her dream of having the power to command instant obedience from her children. This inspired her to create The Rhine Maiden, whose heroine, Piper, lives a life very similar to Erin’s. Sadly, the supernatural powers are imaginary and Erin has to live vicariously through her writing.

I am a South African writer, and the eBook revolution has come as a godsend to writers in SA, allowing us to publish our books to millions of English speaking booklovers around the world. I love writing for the escapism it offers, allowing me to inhabit a world of my own choosing. For that reason, I am also an avid reader, immersing myself in the imaginings of other writers. And movies, well, don't get me started. I go into withdrawal if I don't see at least two new movies a week. I love chocolate, and consume the fruits of the cocoa bean in some form or another every day. Not really into ice cream, though, chocolate or otherwise. In my spare time, I run a small shelter for feral cats, and find it very rewarding.

I have dual British/Turkish Cypriot nationality, dividing my time between Hertfordshire and North Cyprus. I am a trained fitness instructor and sports and massage therapist and write freelance feature articles on health, fitness, and various lifetyle subjects. Prior to this, I also worked for Hertfordshire Constabulary for ten years. My first novel, Fourteen Days Later, was short listed for the Harry Bowling Prize 2009 and received a Highly Commended by the Yeovil Literary Prize 2008. It is a romantic comedy with a unique infusion of British and Turkish Cypriot culture. Written in a similar style to Marian Keyes, it is My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Bridget Jones. My Perfect Wedding is the sequel to Fourteen Days Later, although it can be read as a standalone novel. My second novel, The Fashion Police, is a hilarious comedy-mystery novel, the first in the series featuring feisty, larger-than-life, Amber Fox. It was runner-up in the Chapter One Promotions Novel Competition 2010 and voted Best Novel with Romantic Elements 2010 by The Romance Reviews. Praise for Fourteen Days Later: "A very good read." "Very enjoyable and fresh." - Trisha Ashley, Novelist. "Well-written." "You excel at physcial comedy." - Cornerstones "This was a hilarious romance! I had a hard time putting this one down because I never knew what funny catastrophe or line would come next." - The Cajun Book Lady blog "This story was impossible for me to put down." Coffee Time Romance and More Praise for The Fashion Police: "In this cleverly written book, the reader is taken on a variety of plot twists with a missing fashion designer, crazy mobster stalkers, and a police officer on the war-path. Sexy Amber Fox is on the case and it will take all her female wit and feminine ways to stay ahead of the game. The novel was entertaining and enjoyable. A recommend for anyone." Hot Gossip Hot Reviews "A witty well-paced romp, full of energy and with plenty of satisfying twists and turns." Romantic Novelists' Association "I enjoyed the great mixture of action adventure and slapstick. I found myself chuckling out loud and on one occasion snorting water out my nose. " Coffee Time Romance and More. "Hodge created a lovely chick-lit/thriller storyline that reminds me of Charlaine Harris' Lily Bard mysteries that I love to eat up." - The New Podler Review of Books
